The Underground Carpark Community Cultural Program

This exciting program of events brings together a range of arts and cultural activities taking place in the underground carpark arts community on the Collingwood Public Housing Estate. Everything from music, art and theatre productions to the celebrated Collingwood Underground Roller Disco and much more, there is something for everyone in this program.

All activities will be created and produced by local residents and will be open to everyone. These are participatory cultural activities designed to benefit not only those living in public housing but also the broader community.

The program provides a platform for residents to explore and express their identities, promoting an increased sense of pride in home and nurturing the distinctive cultural fabric of our diverse community.

These inclusive cultural events reflect our collective identities and break through social barriers and stigmas surrounding public housing. By telling our community stories these activities redress notions of stigma to create a genuine sense of community.

Open to both public and private housing residents, the program will create greater social cohesion between all people who call these neighbourhoods home, promoting respect and tolerance between different groups in the community.
