The Strata Art Collective Studio

The Studio invites the public – visitors and locals alike – to watch artists work in their own spaces, showcasing their skills and interacting with those who want to learn and watch them creating. The Studio will host specialised art events and a much-needed gallery space for this area, telling the story of the Grampians while enhancing our community and enriching visitors’ experiences. The Studio will have spaces for specialised community art workshops inside and outside, and will be a truly interactive place in which to display, share, collaborate and create artistic works.

Strata Art Collective will share its skills widely. We aim to partner with GrampianArts to host the annual Grampians Brushes and Textures workshops, which have attracted artists from around Australia since 2008. We also want to partner with Grampians Community Health to provide sessions for vulnerable community members such as at-risk youth by providing specialised workshops for budding artists and community members. The Studio will be a place to showcase local art in the contemporary gallery with an interactive space for visitors, and will provide the shire’s community with a functional space that enriches our amazing mountains.
