The Euroa Shire Hall as it was once known is a town hall. With the amalgamation of councils the entire complex was renovated to house the Shire of Strathbogie offices.
The town hall was once a thriving centre where balls, caberets, performances, live theatre, recitals, local pictures, even large funerals were once held.
This large community space is now totally under-utilised and is basically just a cinema with older style seating bolted to the floor. Through the installation of retractable seating, the hall can become totally inclusive once again.
With the installation of retractable tiered seating the hall could be used for any community event that does not require theatre style seating. Balls including school debutante balls (an annual event), caberets, fundraising events such as dinner auctions etc.
However the current use such as Euroa Cinema will be able to function as normal with improved tiered seating. Other activities requiring tiered seating e.g. Euroa Little Theatre, recitals etc will only be enhanced. This is a win-win for our community by broadening the possibilities of usage of the facility as well as maintaining availability for current users.

I reflect on the Dances and Debutant sets which were held in this facility. NONE now in Euroa.
Hopefully the wonderful dance floor can be restored to its original use and used. I believe the Cinema seating was anchored to the flooring and these holes will require plugging or whatever.

An essential community space, multi purpose facility needing much needed investment. The cinema has transformed connectivity not only for Euroa resident many travel long distances. The fundraising capacity building social capital experience is just terrific. Worth the investment for sure.
