The 'Off The Hill' Outside & Emergency Broadcast Van

It is wonderful when the community comes together to show support of those people and companies that want to make a difference in the lives of many. Please help 3MDR to be able to reach out to more people and save lives when the going gets tough, and when special events happen.

Essential for such a fire-prone area!
Also will help with the success of local Community events, which keep this community so vibrant!!

This crew is such an active part of the community- to allow them to support others through emergency announcements, event presence and live broadcasts would be incredible!

All you guys have said it already. We really could do with this!
I, as have many others living in the hills have over the years witnessed various, serious bushfire emergencies. Up-to-date accurate information was a nightmare to find at times, not to mention the lack of information was scary and downright dangerous too. You kinda need to know what’s fully going on to enact your bushfire plan now don’t you? Mind you, the CFA do an awesome job, and without those sirens and their hard work we’d be um...screwed. You see, I recall switching through stations on tv, checking the radio stations...nada. They were only interested in the latest pop hits, the cricket or some desperate housewives basal shenanigans. ....entertainment bla!
The app was ok, but a little slow when we got that, reliability of phone/internet signal is never guaranteed in the hills anyway. Resorting to scanners and trying to decipher codes, frequencies was usually the best, but just tuning-in the bloody things is a nightmare. I needed the help of our local fire captain to get it done properly.
This project would offer fantastic opportunities for 3MDR to help offer safety and connectedness for our community as a whole.

3MDR are a vital part of our community. They know our community well, engaging at a deep & in depth level, right across the community. An OB van would extend their reach even further into the community by increasing their access to the community with a physical presence at community events.
Also because we live in a high risk bushfire zone we need 3MDR's specialist in-depth, local knowledge to provide us with 'real' on-the ground emergency information & alerts support. The major broadcasters during the last major bushfires in our area provided very non-specific, inaccurate information & sensationalist reports, adding greatly to our stresses when we were at our most vulnerable. Please support the local experts to assist us to feel safe, well informed & confident to make the safest possible decisions if & when future emergencies arise.

This would be game-changer! 3mdr is the loving and giving heart of our community. An OB Van would spread the joy - and the outreach - way further. So many more groups would benefit from being heard in this way. Best. Idea. Ever.

AN OB Van would be fabulous for so many reasons - to be able to broadcast from different locations would open so many more doors to support the community and broaden the listener base which would be great for everyone - go 3MDR! Community Radio rocks!

3MDR is the life saver of so many people in the hills, particularly people who are isolated, aged, lonely, incapacitated or just wanting to link with their community, learn, listen and contribute. It should absolutely be supported as much as possible.

This is a vital project for the region, enabling continued broadcasting in case of bushfire. The Dandenongs are one of the most bush fire prone regions in the world.

3MDR's mobile studio would serve the community where the action is happening. Community radio connects us all and deserves our backing.

This project would be an incredible means of communication and support across the whole community of all ages and cultures. It is a must that this project be given the green light.

This would service the entire community rather than just one group or activity.
It would also compliment the critical safety services, much needed during the bush fire season

The guys and girls at 3mdr are an amazing community asset and this would make their volunteer hours so much more enjoyable, productive and possible.
