The Lost Sock

This story is about a sock that gets lost and goes on a great journey to find its way home. On the way, other lost socks are found and together they discover that despite all looking different and being from different places, they are all made of the same thing.... together they find the "Magical Thread". Through storytelling, music, puppetry and projected art the children will become lost socks and find that we are all indeed connected. It is a story for young and old, for children to share with their families, for generations to share, for the entire community.

With such a diverse community, it is vitally important from an early age to recognise and celebrate our differences whilst embracing and sharing in our commonalities. It is important for children to understand that whilst we may all appear different, come from different places and speak different languages, the common thread of humanity unites us. This event encourages connection, a connected community is a strong community, one that supports each other, inspires each other, rejoices with each other and learns from each other. This event would help our community unite through the arts and with the eyes of a child.
