The Little Bus of Learning

Our vision is to transform a bus into a beautiful mobile classroom which travels to our local forests and parklands. Setting up each day, providing a learning hub for scheduled classes, playgroups and community events.

The Little Bus will serve the children and families of the Yarra Ranges. Providing indoor/outdoor classes, passionate teachers, magnificent surroundings and true community involvement. Taking learning into nature and inspiring our children.

Each day will be a schedule of activities such as creative writing, woodcraft, nature studies, dance, music, indigenous and cultural studies. Mixed in with free play learning, outdoor projects and adventures.

There is a need in the Yarra Ranges for expanded and inspired learning environments, especially for the growing number of children educated outside the school system.

The Little Bus provides an unprecedented learning focus, steeped in the natural world. Sheltering everyone from the weather and holding them in a warm community of families. During school hours, the bus will be filled with home-school children. In the afternoons, we create classes with the schools and wider community.

Our land is rich with places of natural beauty and the bus makes them easily accessible to our children and the community.
