We will run the following activities focused on celebrating LGBTIQA+ Multicultural people, open to all. -Online media exhibition through Instagram. Work will be released over a week, each artist representing one day. This follows the linked international media exhibition hosted during Ramadan https://www.instagram.com/minaazine/?hl=en - Arts collective to exhibit work focusing on mental health in LGBTIQA+ Multicultural communities. The collective will meet fortnightly, creating work together for an exhibition. - Youth celebration including a dance party and craft activities to celebrate LGBTIQA+ Multicultural youth - Intergenerational gatherings between Multicultural LGBTIQ older people and youth to knowledge share and discuss local matters
The activities will provide our community with opportunities to create art, celebrate, story tell and heal together.
LGBTIQA+ Multicultural people often fall between the mainstream ideas of what it means to be LGBTIQA+ and what it means to be Multicultural, or a Person of Colour. There are few opportunities for us to tell our own stories and celebrate with the wider community.
The activities will focus on online exhibitions and art collectives will empower the community to create positive and diverse representations of ourselves.
The youth and intergenerational events will celebrate and uplift our communities across ages, faiths and backgrounds.
