Such a great event for Melbourne creatives to self publish their ideas. Due it's popularity, the event is at capacity and very much needs to be expanded to 2 days!

The Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair will be a two day zine fair in the biggest room of the Melbourne Town Hall. The fair will bring together independent publishers from all around Australia and offer an opportunity to view and purchase a range of incredible artwork. The fair would offer space to both experienced makers, as well as those making their first zine, in an attempt to capture the vibrant world of self-publishing happening right now in Australia. Entry to the fair would be free and all stalls would be offered to the makers for free.
The Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair will celebrate participation. The fair will be coordinated and curated by Sticky Institute who have operated a zine shop at Shop 10 Campbell Arcade, Melbourne since 2001. The shop has stocked over 15,000 individual zine titles since 2001 with zine numbers growing every year. The fair will offer the opportunity for the community to meet makers face to face to discuss zine production, zine content, zine distribution and self-publishing issues. The fair will provide a valuable platform for zinemakers to distribute their work and for members of the community to access artwork.

Fantastic opportunity for community of artists and creatives.
Self-publishing via zines is a really good tool for people with ideas, for artists and for lively free expression. Great project.

The zine fair is a unique event, a unique and vibrant part of Melbourne’s cultural scene. It draws hundreds of stallholders and thousands of visitors each year, so much so that it needs to be run over two days.
