"The Australian Animal Alphabet" project is designed to help educate children in the Mount Alexander Shire aged between 5 -10 years about our native wildlife.
Each child will be taught how to identify, what to do and who to call if they locate injured, trapped or distressed wildlife with an overview on the environmental needs of that animal through a fun activity and fact booklet.
The project will also bring alphabet posters with beautifully illustrated and colourful drawings by a local artist into class rooms, scout halls, youth groups, community groups, libraries, home and schooling groups.

This project will help our country based community understand the needs of our local native wildlife along with non-local wildlife.
It will educate children that may wish to pursue employment in animal or environmental fields later in life and the basic wildlife care and knowledge will filter through to other community members. One of the main reasons people do not stop for wounded wildlife is lack of knowledge. This project aims to change that. To replace fear & uncertainly with compassion & understanding. Education through visual aids and fun activities will help with a genuine interest to learn.
