MUF has become a Melbourne institution since its inception in 2010. Over the last nine years the festival has featured the best national and international ukulele based acts. It has also provided a platform for local and national amateur artists and community groups. I would like to see this worthy event continue for many years to come.

In 2019 we will celebrate the 10th annual Melbourne Ukulele Festival, with a renewed focus on participation. As in past years, the festival will consist of a weekend of concerts and events held in the High Street Northcote and Thornbury precincts. The program will include; major acts including international performers, along with community group performers, and opportunities for emerging artists; and workshops, children's sessions and other activities.
The benefits of music are well-understood and the ukulele is an affordable, portable and easy-to-learn instrument with a welcoming community of players. Ukulele groups typically have a strong community focus and are an important community activity for many people. Research supports the benefits of playing the ukulele. The festival seeks to bring these benefits to the community with opportunities for performance, learning and engagement.

This is a must happen event that brings together people of all ages, playing abilities all participating in the joy that music can bring, at a friendly cost to families...long live the MUF!
Such a great event. I played in 2015 and 16 and would love to come back again for another fantastic time.
Can't wait! MUF rules!
I sort of lead a group of 15 uke players that meet in Lalor each week. Any chance of getting a spot in this gig?
I have volunteered at this amazing event. It is for all ages and really brings people together. Everyone smiles for the whole weekend! There are opportunities to perform, be an audience, do workshops and meet many other ukulele players from around Victoria, Australia and the world! It v would be great to offer lots of free things so even more people can partake in the joy of this people's instrument. Please vote for it! Ukecanchangethe world!
