Access to the rebuilt tennis courts will be for all members at Lakeview Tennis Club and for any other tennis players within the Darebin municipality.
Repairs to a court with sink-hole damage will ensure player safety by removing uneven undulations on the court surface.
Book-a-Court will allow non members the ability to book and pay for the hire of courts via the internet.

The rebuilt courts will attract and retain members through the provision of first-rate courts and facilities and allow us to provide new initiatives such as Female Only Cardio Tennis providing an avenue to have fun through fitness and social interaction. A flow on effect of the above would increase female participation within the tennis framework and encourage social and competitive play. All this will help to make Lakeview become a welcoming hub of activity for people of all ages, cultures and abilities. Book-a-court allows non members the opportunity to use the courts via an online booking facility.

Lakeview Tennis Club needs funding to get their courts repaired. They have excellent players and it’s sad to see their not having proper courts to play for their tournaments and to train. Something should be done for this club as the courts are too dangerous for young kids to play, especially with their uneven court floors. Hope there will be good news for the club soon.
Go Lakeview TC!!!

As a team member of Lakeviews sectoin 6 girls, I would love for an increase of women and young girls to join the club to play competition or purely for the fun of it. LETS GO LAKEVIEW!!!

Our kids have been playing at Lakeview for a number of years now. Our girls have made it to 3 finals despite being the only female junior comp team at Lakeview and competing against much bigger clubs. Despite being the underdogs and having run-down facilities, the community spirit of the members and club committee is the best. We’d love to see an upgrade which is long overdue. Go Lakeview..!

My son has been playing and coached at Lakeview tennis club for over 3 years now. The club is very friendly and the experience has definitely helped my sons confidence. The courts are in a bad way and need to be fixed, it’s onky a matter of time before someone seriously hurts themselves. We love the vibe at this club, so please help us improve the courts.

My family have been members at Lakeview for the last 9 years. My boys play competitive tennis for the club and I worry they may injure themselves because of the state of the courts. We see the impressive conditions of opposing clubs’ courts and believe our kids deserve the same!!!

I would like to support the Lakeview Tennis Club. I was one of the original members of the Club over 50 years ago who worked hard at helping to raise funds for the building of the first courts and the tiny clubhouse. I played on those courts for many years both on a Saturday and in a Tuesday Ladies Competition and was made a Life Member of the Club. Sport is very important for young kids and I would like to see the Club continue by having up to date facilities and enjoy the facilities I had as a youngster when Reservoir was awash with children just after the War. I hope you succeed. Carol McBain

Someone will eventually hurt themselves from the state of the court surface.

Lakeview Tennis Club was established in the early 1960's however a lack of funding from both the State and Local Government has left the courts in a substandard condition. Lakeview urgently require funds to repair these courts to allow the club to remain a viable entity within the Darebin municipality.

Imagine what it would be like if they upgraded the courts AND the nearby skatepark and basketball courts..? If you want young people to get active and away from their devices, then Councils and the State need to better plan for these facilities. An activity and sporting hub at Edwardes Lake - you simply can’t go wrong.
