In conjunction with Monash Council and Waverley Bridge Club, this project aims to introduce bridge to primary schools in the Monash Council area.
This pilot program will demonstrate how beneficial bridge can be for children in the year 4-6 demographic, seeing a direct increase in skills and confidence. Many schools in the area have shown interest in the inclusive engagement and educational benefits of this initiative, as well as parental interest in keeping children socialising away from electronics.
Enabling schools to have a free introduction, training and the resources to be self-sufficient post project is a must for longevity.

Bridge enables children to hone skills in social inclusiveness, improving math skills, concentration, spatial thinking and being part of a sport that rewards young players with opportunities to represent Victoria and Australia.
Bridge is proven as an inter-generational activity, as well as highly culturally inclusive and accessible.
This pilot program has been designed to ensure accessibility, and can be broadly implemented across all child cohorts. This is great for family time and building genuine friendships. Overseas bridge is already in many schools curriculum and funded by corporations who want these skills in future employees.

I was a primary school teacher for 35 years & saw many worthwhile programs initiated during my career. Bridge was never offered in my career but I think it would be a wonderful learning experience for children & enhance their memory & development skills. I would love to see children spending time away from computers & taking part in bridge sessions. A great social experience for children.

Great idea - to develop mathematical skills such as probability, number, and spacial. It encourages social and cooperative skills in working with a partner: plus, of course, Bridge is a great game to play!
