The Nature Playspace will be available for use by groups including school children and the community. The Playspace will include a large mound with a tunnel through it, tree logs on the side to use as steps. Once at the top you can wobble along the rope bridge to the lookout and down the rope ladder to enjoy the walking planks surrounding the boulders, trees and sandy areas, providing inspiration for creative open ended play.
The space can also be used to educate students through the school's outdoor classroom program; underscoring the importance of caring for the natural environment.

Tate Street Nature Playspace will build collaboration and unity among families who live around Tate Street Primary School. The school is located in one of the most socially disadvantaged suburbs in Victoria according to the 2016 Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) and requires innovative community-led solutions to alleviate social disadvantage and reduce crime. A nature play space will provide opportunities for creative outdoor play for school children and pre-schoolers who live in the local area, without the need to get in the car. Increased use of the space will also discourage crime-related activity at the school including graffiti vandalism.

The school is amazing with a great sense of community by allowing the local community to use the grounds out of school hours, so many of the kids stay behind after school or go back in to play on the weekend, build cubbies in the trees this would be an awesome addition

Bloody brilliant idea! Love the thought of not needing a car to get to a nature playground. More people in the school means less damn graffiti!
