Symphony of Life is a live theatre performance employing comedy, pathos, music and dance to portray the cancer journey. Starring acclaimed actor John Wood,
Symphony of Life is a free community event paying tribute to leading cancer support group Brave Hearts on the Murray. Produced in Mt Beauty, the play will tour six towns in North East Victoria (Mt Beauty, Bright, Myrtleford, Beechworth, Yackandandah and Wodonga). In each town the cast will be joined on stage by a local "Symphony" choir, comprising of local cancer sufferers and survivors. While addressing major health themes the play is a celebration of life.
The people of Mt Beauty will benefit from:
employment in the arts (graphic and set design, choreography, sound and lighting design and technician, photography, musicians, playwright, actors, dancers, singers)
All six towns will benefit from:
connecting with others
musical therapy
being involved in a project with a higher purpose
experiencing a greater sense of humanity, empathy and compassion for others
being inspired by the humanitarian work of people and community groups such as Brave Hearts on the Murray
developing performance skills
developing skills in cooperation, teamwork, leadership, respect, inclusion
meeting new people
making new friends.
