This program seeks to build resilience and safety within the community by teaching self-defence to vulnerable groups (women and children) and key first responders (paramedics, police officers and firefighters). This is a grass roots program that will support other government programs that seek to reduce the impact of aggression and violence within our community.
Classes will be run by 2 world class Black belts with a combined experience of over 50 years and 2 purple belts instructors with a combined experience of 15 years.
The project will run for six months.
Classes can accommodate up to 40 participants.

Violence and aggression is rising in the community. This manifests in bullying, domestic violence and aggression towards emergency workers. According to the Domestic Violence Resource Centre, one in four women in Australia will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime and it is the leading cause of death and disability among women between the ages of 15 and 44 in Victoria. In three out of four cases responded to by emergency services, children will be present. The economic and social impact of violence and aggression is enormous.
Whilst other programs seek to prevent this violence and aggression.
