Streetscape Lighting

Eltham is the largest and busiest activity centre in the Nillumbik Shire. The Eltham Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI) has identified the commercial precinct of Eltham Town suffers from a lack of adequate lighting in the main public thoroughfares and community meeting spaces. In a time where public safety is paramount, this project will see the installation of environmentally friendly up lighting and bud lighting to a number of selected trees throughout the precinct. The project will cover the Town Square, Commercial Place and key streets of the Eltham Town Major Activity Centre.

This project will provide the community with a safer, more vibrant and attractive built environment for all night time users of the Eltham Major Activity Centre and it’s growing range of amenities, including both the public and business employees as they move around the precinct as part of late night trading. In addition, creating safe public spaces will allow the Eltham Chamber of Commerce and Industries to leverage their ability to further activate public open space, providing more opportunities for the community to come together and engage in a safe and inclusive environment
