Strathbogie Forest Fair

One magical Saturday in late summer, come up the winding roads to the Strathbogie Plateau. The Hall is home to a fair celebrating our local bush.

Walking tours, forest science activities, local musicians, sustainable bush craft, a mural by artist Minna Leunig and more, make for a fun-filled day and a chance to engage in the beauty, biodiversity and natural treasure that is the Strathbogie Forest.

The day culminates in an evening of bush dancing, with dances called by the incredible Sal Kimber. A family friendly event, the Hall grounds will celebrate local produce and host a pumping community kitchen.

Strathbogie Forest Fair is an opportunity to focus and reflect on the importance of this forest for our community, the animals within and the role its tall and diverse trees play in maintaining a healthy planet.

Locals share their knowledge of everything, from the threatened Powerful Owl and Greater Glider, to the importance of fungi for a healthy forest ecosystem, and using natural materials, creating art in the bush - sculpture and much more.

Local producers showcase their wares and visitors bring a surge in tourism.

The Bush Dance and Fair brings many smiles and boundless joy to the community.
