Walking 18 holes of Beaufort Golf Course has become difficult for many of our ageing club members. They are faced with whether they can continue to play the game they love or give it away. Several women and men have purchased golf carts, which assist them to remain mobile and involved for a longer period. Transporting these carts in trailers is beyond most women and many older men. A specific storage shed for carts on site would provide a safe alternative to transporting carts in trailers or driving carts on public roads to get to the course.

A storage shed at the golf course will be much safer for ageing players. It will encourage them to remain involved for a longer period, which is wonderful for their mental health and general wellbeing. Their participation in the club provides a twofold benefit as many have extensive experience of the game and it's various complexities, which they love passing on to new and younger members. Most older players have extended families in the community who want to see them enjoying their golf for as long as possible. The proposed cart storage shed would provide this outcome.

With no youth coming through the club what a great way to support the elder members to continue playing golf with the addition of accessible transport for those in need.

What a great idea to provide storage for golf carts. I had not considered the difficulties before of golfers needing to get their carts to courses. It is a no brainer to me to provide a storage shed to park these vehicles and make life easier for our valued aging population.

I would like to see this project go through as the people involved in the club are great people to have around if we don't get it done it will reduce the numbers

Much needed service to keep people active and involved in the community, and is one of the few sporting locations where you can get a large diversity of different generations mixing together, which will be assisted greatly with the completion of this project.

This is a much needed facility for the Beaufort Golf Club. I travel from Ballarat to Beaufort and tow a golf cart. I find the golf club welcoming and affordable but as I age it would be easier for me to locate my golf cart to the club and reduce lifting trailer on and off the car, stress of towing and in time if I get to a stage of not being able to drive I can catch the train to Beaufort and play golf in my cart.

Most of our golfers using carts are of retirement age, many travelling with their cart on a trailer from as far as Ballarat and Ararat. Many of the golfers would have their playing years extended if their cart was housed on the course, and trailers, etc were not a necessity.

I reside in Ararat, am a member of the Beaufort Golf Club (member for 8 yrs) I am a senior member as its low membership fees make the BGClub the most desirable for me, as I am 76 yrs of age, I need to use a cart (motorised buggy) for me to continue my love of golf and continue with friendships thru the sport. I have an Electric Buggy and need to house it on course as I cannot transport same to course 2-3 times per week, 50 times per yr. i am also certain that many other members would join the club if premises are available to house buggies.

I most certainly would hope that the powers that be will make the application for a " Buggy Storage Shed" become a reality. Pls. Thank you.
