The Corryong Memorial Hall is the hub of the Corryong Community for social activities, indoor sports, arts and crafts exhibitions, stage presentations and a go-to venue for general community functions. This includes balls and dances, junior, mens and ladies basketball competitions, indoor bowls competitions for all ages, badminton, annual Quilting & Craft exhibitions, Man From Snowy River Arts Festival exhibition , school stage performances, School of Dance concerts, Anzac Day celebrations, Government elections, Snowy Hydro & other business presentations, auctions... However- all this is threatened by leaks in the roof and subsidence of the ceiling.
With a new roof and ceiling in place, the community will be confident that inclement weather will not result in creating OH&S issues or last minute cancellation of events, and can plan with confidence. The planned ceiling replacement will assist the accoustics of the hall, both reducing noise levels for sporting events and enhance sound production from the stage.
An aesthetically pleasing, waterproof, large gathering place in the central location of our rural township will encourage more local groups to make use of the hall, and attract more tourists to stop, visit and participate in our local events and attractions.

A community hall that is in the centre of town should always be the hub of a rural town for a central meeting place, emergencies & disasters and for family, business and sporting events.

It’s an important space in our community and one the community needs to retain. It’s a great place that has been managed & maintained by a hard working community committee.
Hi Lelana. .Thank you for your comment. Yes it is the prominent community space in Corryong. Our committee works hard to maintain and improve always remembering the effort put in by community members to establish 50+ years ago.

I agree with Samantha McGraths comments. My father along with a lot of other voluntary workers helped build this hall so for sentimental reasons we want it maintained.
Hi Bev....our committee always consider the hard work and hours spent by community members to build this magnificent community building. Funds are extremely difficult to secure for refurbishment....seems the idea is to "knock down and start again"....our committee firmly want to retain and protect the existing building..

The Memorial Hall must be on everyone's high priority list come on everyone support the hard working committee members so we can complete the new roof then when that's done move on to the kitchen!

The Hall committee have worked tirelessly to achieve improvements to the hall. A Grant is exactly what is needed to realise their efforts. This Hall is used by so many different community members and plays an integral part in a wide variety of community events.
