Production of a visually stimulating, exclusive use safe place for our community is the first part of our project. 80% of learning occurs through the visual system. Second is access to technology specifically for the visually impaired such as braille displays, magnification units, magnifiers and text readers. Classes will be delivered in small groups with a view to providing increased work readiness levels and increased self-assurance to those in our community who are visually impaired. Regardless of age or employment status. The area will be suitable for those who need to study and at school, for work applications or research.

Having a specifically tailored area and programs for all people in our community with visual impairment will assist in building general self-confidence, improving work readiness skills and workplace or study help requirements. Training in the efficient use of technology increases the potential for maximum involvement in all areas of curriculum and life. Opening the area to visually impaired community members offers opportunities for vision development in the areas of awareness, attention, fixation and opportunities for recreation, learning and leisure. This offers opportunities for all ages to utilise the equipment offered and help to build their self-confidence and skills.
