St. Oswald's Community "Arts 4 You" Program

Our "Arts 4 You" mission is "Enhancing life through creativity". The foundation of Arts 4 You is for all members of our community, young and old, who should have an opportunity to explore and enhance their creativity, self-expression and self-esteem through the arts to support individual health and wellbeing. The goal of Arts 4 You is to support creative programs in painting, music, writing and clowning and to provide access to individuals who would not otherwise be able to participate. The Arts 4 You program will provide an accessible community arts precinct for the Glen Iris /Ashburton/Burwood community.

Many older people have limited mobility and opportunities for social contact with other members of their community outside their home or aged care facility. Many younger families have limited time and financial resources to provide creative opportunities for their children. The activities within this Arts 4 You program will provide transport, access and hospitality, including sharing meals, for a range of people from our local community. This will allow older people and children to develop their creative talents, have new experiences, feel more included socially, make new friends, be part of a wider community and increase their self esteem.
