The app will be free to all future visitors of the little penguin colony in St Kilda. Visitors will download the app which takes them on an interactive journey through the colony. As users move through the colony, there will be audio tours, videos, penguin information, fun facts about some of St Kilda's quirkiest penguins, and even the opportunity to contribute to research; users can answer questions such as how many people/penguins they see and when people are using flash photography. At different locations, app users will complete an activity/receive information and will then be directed to the next location.
The app will allow users to learn and engage with the colony on an interactive level and contribute valuable data which will help protect the penguins. Data collected by users will contribute to the protection of the colony as crowds become larger and the amount of pollution increases. The app experience enables visitors to get the most out of their time with the penguins and will be a great family activity for all members of the community. The app will benefit the community through fun, education and environmental protection.

If pitched from the point of view of the penguins this could be a great help....raising awareness, collecting data, and detecting early signs of trouble such as correlating activity to pollution in the bay etc....

Fantastic idea!! Would be great to also include the ability to receive donations to help with improvements and safety of the penguins!
