Our kids need this type of learning. It's so important to teach our kids about good health and nutrition. Growing their own food makes the whole learning process more fun! We learn so much more when we enjoy what we're doing.

In conjunction with 3000 acres, the students, teachers and parents of Spotswood Primary school would love to build a sustainable productive garden that will benefit the environment, school and local community. In designing and building this garden, we want to put a big emphasis on student learning and community creativity - to work together to create something special. In the garden, there will be regular classes for students during the week and workshops for the community on weekends. Involving everyone means our garden will always be loved - even over school holidays!
The school's greatest asset is our ability to provide open space and food growing opportunities for the school and wider community in an area where residential density is rapidly increasing.
We believe there is an opportunity to create a place the community will enjoy and be encouraged and supported to learn about living a healthier and more environmentally-engaged life.
Training, classes and workshops will inspire life-skill learning and develop a real sense of community over the garden. Our vision is students’ passion for the garden extending beyond graduation - keeping the space thriving for years to come.

Yes please. This would be fantastic for our school children.
This would be amazing!!
Great Idea
Great idea
A great idea for the whole community. Spotswood hasn't enough open space so having a community garden at the school will enable lots of kids living in units to appreciate gardening, grow produce and just have fun more outside. Im a keen gardener and would love to contribute.
I will spread the word as education needs to start from the ground up!
Yes, please. this would be a wonderful addition to the school.
And help our kids understand and enjoy seeing how their food grows.
It’s part of the learning cycle; growing food requires being responsible and accountable, and the best part is enjoying the fruits of our labour.
Super exciting
So happy to be on this shortlist! Hope you can support our school and local community.

The Principal!!!
Brilliant idea, our kids need to know where their food comes from, get dirty and appreciate nature! Especially considering Spotswood lacks a lot of public green space.
