The Alan Garden Memorial Reserve oval is multipurpose with many user groups, these include; Tyntynder Football Club, UTUF Cricket Club, CMFL umpires training, school groups and the Swan Hill Show Society. When the oval is not being used by user groups it is open to the general public for recreational activity. These user groups all use the facility for sporting and fitness activities. The project will design and install subsurface drainage, rebuild the oval for stability and drainage and design and install an efficient watering system. This will create a facility which will encourage participation.

The improvement in the oval will increase participation and improve safety for existing and new users. Increased participation and physical activity leads to greater health and wellbeing for the community. An improved oval will lead to increased members of the user groups which will create a greater social connection within the members. Health and wellbeing data shows that the Swan Hill community has above the state average health and wellbeing issues, increasing participation will encourage the community to address these issues.

Funding to support this upgrade will have multifaceted benefits to the community, as it not only supports local sporting groups but wider community events. This precinct was unsuccessful in attracting community funding to build playground facilities 2 years running. It’s now time for Alan Garden to be recognised as a priority.

Please support this project as this oval is used every day of the year and is desperately in need of an upgrade. Little maintenance and so much use has resulted in a surface that is substandard and bordering on dangerous.

Alan Garden Memorial Reserve Oval is in serious need of a rebuild. There are bumps and crater like depressions everywhere within a flat surface. Be great to see this venue improved to a standard it is worthy of.

This is a widely used facility, not only used by the Tyntynder & Swan Hill Footy Clubs but by passive and other recreational users. This ground is also used by track & field athletes to train on when it's available.
Both the Swan Hill Showgrounds and the Alan Garden ovals complement each other and this oval is in despite need if rejuvenation and well behind the standard of other grounds in the district.

The ground used by Tyntynder football club really needs an update in the drainage system.
