The project will install solar photovoltaic systems on four of the Boroondara community centres. These are the Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre, Alamein Neighbourhood and Learning Centre, Bowen Street Community Centre and Maternal Child Health Care Centre in Camberwell and the Craig Family Centre in Ashburton. These four locations don’t have solar installed and have buildings suitable for the proposed installation. Each system will be about 10-12 kW in size, significantly reducing the electricity demand and costs for the centres. The centres are all active during the day and are highly suited to benefit from solar.
The Boroondara neighbourhood houses and community centres bring people together to connect, learn and contribute in their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities. They provide valuable services and community support for all residents. The centres are particularly vital for maintaining community connectedness for many of the most vulnerable members of our society. Installing Solar will help the centres reduce their bills freeing up funds to provide their important programs. The project will also serve as a visible reminder of the important commitment to sustainability.

I support this.
Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre is an inclusive and very friendly community hub connecting a diverse group of people. Helping it run more Sustainably using solar power is something I fully supports
I want to support this as Surrey Hills Neighbourhood House is a terrific community but living in Mont Albert, I am told it is out of my area
By supporting it, I am moved to Ashburton!

Community Centres are very valuable places that are much needed in our community to provide support for all. Giving solar panels is a win win for it drops their running costs while helping the environment!
