Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL) will deliver an introductory program of roller skate skills to 4000 primary and high school students in an engaging and inclusive format. This will consist of 4 weeks incursion to schools &/or youth groups; either at their premises or ours; with an introduction to basic roller skating skills. This will be an extension of a pilot program currently happening and extends the opportunity to all youth in Northern Metro Region.

We encourage participation in rollerskating by empowering youth to learn basic skills, learning how to fix and repair their equipment, allowing access to avenues of sport (roller derby), recreation (bowl skating) and active transport. Participation allows, youth to be motivated to exercise and be social, creates positive peer relationships and reduces their dependence on motorised transport for short distance journey and intra-suburb travel.
At VRDL, over 90% of our membership is female-identifying with significant over-representation of our members identify as MOGI or LBTQIO+ and our coaches are positive role models to our students.

I have two daughters with VRDL its an amazing league so organised, coaches that are passionate about roller derby they coach from the heart they make it fun, inclusive and teach the kids skating skills, game strategy and how to be a team! I think it would be great if we could share this with loads of other kids in the area.
