Showgrounds Spectator Enhancement

An additional scoreboard would allow spectators on the river side of the ground to see the score. During major events, an additional scoreboard is required and brought in, in addition the grandstand on the opposite side is often closed to the public. Tiered seating at the clubrooms end of the showgrounds would allow junior league, Ovens & Murray senior & under 18s, Murray Bushrangers (TAC, female & male) & All Abilities players to comfortably meet before and after the games with their families. All visitors and showgrounds user groups will have access to, and will benefit from this proposed project.

The community feedback has been strong that the current scoreboard can only be viewed from the opposite side of the ground, frustrating river side spectators.
Feedback is also strong about insufficient seating. Families waiting for their children after training or games have no seating available to catch up with families and friends, allowing them to continue to watch the football adjacent to the clubrooms and its social facilities.
The completed project would attract additional high profile events to the grounds, creating more community strengthening opportunities. The economic flow-on effect to local businesses of the increased visitation would be significant.
