"SHOW Off" Djilga Gatim Gatim Boomerang Competition

"SHOW Off" Wotjobaluk Boomerang Competition would be open to males of all abilities and cultures. Peoples from far and wide would be invited to learn this age old skill, Boomerang throwing. This Indigenous cultural activity would enhance and grow community connectedness within the rural village of Natimuk and across the Wotjobaluk Country. Natimuk meaning “Little Creek’s is nestled at the base of Mt Arapiles 25km west of Horsham. Mt Arapiles is renowned worldwide as a prime Rock Climbing destination. Natimuk has a strong Arts Community, Agriculture is predominantly cropping and sheep. This first time Natimuk Show Competition date is 23/3/2019

This first time competition at the Natimuk 127th Agricultural Show would grow tourism. It would create additional employment at local business to cater for the increase in trade generated from this Indigenous cultural community connectedness project. Djilga meaning "SHOW Off" Gatim Gatim meaning boomerang. As a free event it would facilitate a greater number of patrons and especially those who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend or participate. The competition would put Natimuk “Little Creek” on the map worldwide as a destination, potentially enhancing employment opportunities, community wellness and tolerance across Watjobaluk Country.
