Shepparton Community Wheelchair Basketball Program

The Shepparton Community Wheelchair Basketball Program will bring participation opportunities and raise awareness of wheelchair basketball and its benefits to improving the quality of life for people with a physical disability or injury. It will also target people who don’t traditionally play basketball or may have stopped playing mainstream basketball due to age or injury. The program offers opportunity to a large range of participants.
By purchasing a set of basketball wheelchairs to be located at the Shepparton Stadium we are able to establish a sustainable program of wheelchair basketball in the region.

By purchasing a set of wheelchairs the GSBA will be able to better cater for the wheelchair basketball community and will be able to offer opportunity to primary and secondary schools and other community and corporate organisations to participate in wheelchair basketball clinics and programs, which will help raise the awareness of the program, wheelchair basketball and the importance of inclusion and accessibility for people with a disability or impairment in sport and recreation activities.
