Imagine being elderly and alone. Imagine not having someone to interact or talk with. Imagine not speaking the same language as those around you. Imagine how cold and grey that could be. Imagine the fear. The isolation. The vulnerability.

Now imagine the opportunity to create colour and beauty with others- the beauty of connection through expression.

With your support, we will create a space where socially isolated seniors can get together and make art. A place where language isn’t a barrier – where art is their expression.

The program is evidence-based and will build confidence and wellbeing of elderly citizens in our community through art and self-expression - the pieces will be used to beautify homes and public areas. Research is clear that Seniors with a sense of purpose are less likely to succumb to the negative effects of social isolation. It will foster a sense of purpose and reduce isolation. This program provides a platform for seniors who would otherwise have little opportunities to participate in community activities to socialise, connect with others, and attain a sense of accomplishment and pride.
