The quiet town of Landsborough, located at the foot of the Pyrenees Ranges in country Western Victoria, provides the perfect location for a drive-in cinema under the stars.
The event will be held on the local recreation reserve, which sits unused since the town's football club folded in 2002. With a large cinema screen set up one end, cars can enter the field and park along designated rows, where they can bring their own refreshments or purchase from the nearby kiosks, selling hot drinks, food and confectionary. We propose to screen a series of approximately 5 movies over 5-10 weeks.
The township of Landsborough suffered significant loss when the football club folded in 2002 and more recently, when they lost their General Store in 2018. Since these events, the community has been limited in opportunities for positive social engagement and connection. This event aims to benefit the Landsborough and wider community by providing a fun and novel event that will attract older community members, families and the younger demographic all to the same spot over the warmer months, giving them an opportunity to engage, socialise and experience that sense community connectedness and wellbeing that makes country-living, so rich.

Great idea Krystal for Landsborough and surrounds, great opportunity for communities to get together. I think there would be people travelling from lots of surrounding towns to take part. Hope people get behind this project.

Have put in a vote for this project Krystal........ Great Idea, would definitely get used. Get kids away from modern distractions and get the whole family back together for a wholesome and enjoyable pastime / experience.
Will definitely support this endeavour.
