School Mini-Grid - Community Solar Storage and Power $avings

Installation of Solar and Battery System including monitoring and public display.

Liaison with the existing power supply stakeholders to design power smoothing within the local area (and therefore cost savings) by using existing urban solar power generated to create a more sustainable self funded modular system.

Power $avings to be shared between all participants; from the host school and local solar owners to all residents, local business and industry choosing to participate.

Leveraging community power production to create a dispersed green power network that gives greater choice to consumers and helps lower electricity costs for everyone.

The School Solar Power and Battery with Design for Mini-Grid will enable many benefits for the community:
- Power generation monitored by students for STEM education
- LED Screen to display achievements and cost savings to the community
- Community engagement within and beyond the school based on sustainability
- Reduction in the requirement for coal and fossil fuel based power production
- School mini-grid concept to be designed to be easily adopted by other schools and shared with other communities throughout Victoria
- Power $aving participants can monitor and reduce their power usage
