With double the rainfall in Mount Dandenong compared to most of Melbourne, our current sports court is often wet, slippery, and unusable for long periods. A roof would allow this to be used all year providing both sun protection in summer and will allow use during wet weather. A roof would also reduce the amount of debris on the surface making it safer for users. The school students, local fitness clubs, tennis coaches, out of school hours care program and the local football/netball club use this facility.
This project will benefit the school community by allowing us to conduct high quality Physical Education and Sports sessions with our students across the long wet winter period, without the need to modify the program for a smaller, unsuitable, indoor facility.
The Dandenong Ranges is significantly lacking in undercover sporting facilities and a roofed court would provide a venue for basketball training, football and netball training, personal training sessions, tennis coaching and a multitude of other active pastimes.
A successful application would see us actively promote the facility for local community organisations to utilise outside school hours.

My grandchildren attend this school. This improvement would make it possible for them to play sport , in a safe environment during all seasons wet, or dry. The whole community would greatly benefit . As a grandparent it would also make it safer for me to attend sports days.
