The Sandford Bush Music Festival will be held in March 2019 and was first held in 2018. Sandford is a tiny rural community (population 287), with limited community events and activities. The Festival is open to anyone in the community. Community participation is encouraged with jam sessions, workshops, blackboard sessions and instrument making. The festival would love to expand and offer another marquee with a full line up of artists but is unable to afford the entertainment costs. There is also a need for infastructure that was borrowed or hired last year.
The Festival brought over 1000 people in to Sandford and Casterton which boosted local business and we anticipate at least double next year. The community lacks any arts or cultural events, and this is really the only event held in Sandford. Infastructure funding will reduce ongoing hire costs. Infastructure will also be loaned to the Sandford Recreation Reserve Trust, Sandford Social Club, Primary School, Netball club etc. We anticipate the new marquee and entertainers will draw attraction and increase crowds which will bring in more income. All surplus funds (if any) from the festival are distributed to NFP community groups.
