We have requested our partner to make improvements to our dog park to make the park as beautiful as the surrounding parks and recreation areas in Saltwater. Some of the improvements have been made and they are able to do dome more, however there are numerous we would like to apply for.
Here are some of the issues that we have mentioned to our partner
GROUND SURFACE, POO POWERED LIGHTING SYSTEM, DOUBLE GATES, SHELTER FROM THE ELEMENTS, EXTRA SEATING, AGILITY EQUIPMENT/PLAY EQUIPMENT, SMALLER ENCLOSED AREA FOR SMALL DOGS & PUPPIES

All users of the park can then have much better security when entering and leaving the park, the double gates being more secure. A lighting system, which is sustainable by utilising the dog droppings to power the light. This will help remove the actual waste and power the lights making it a cleaner form of energy. Shelter from the elements over the current seating. Some agility or play equipment for the dogs. The surface is very poor and a lot of people do not bring their dogs to the park because of the condition, and use the sports fields

We have lived in this estate for 6 years and don't go here anymore due to the low maintenance of the park. Theres barley any grass and everytime we did our dog ended up with ripping the pads off his paws due to the limited grass areas/rough surfaces. It is also too small of space when it is busy times after work.
Shelter would be good and lighting to be able to access after dark.

Went to this park couple of times, great to see the improvement to this small park for all dogs to play.

Even though this park is 5 minutes from my house, I rather drive to the Yarraville dog park (which is HUGE, green and well cared for). This is far too small which makes it hard to steer clear of the big boisterous dogs that are far too full on for my small dogs, so definately a seperate fenced area for small dogs and puppies is a must. Also the dirt, poo and broken old balls everywhere are a turn off.

There is more dirt and less grass every time I visit this park, it's a shame it doesn't recieve the same level of care as the sport fields that surround it. However, it's nice to see there has been a new water bowl and bench installed. It would be great to have the park split in half so that my small dogs can enjoy playing with pups their own size instead of being chased and pounced on by the big, rough dogs.

I live 5 minutes walk from the park and don't use the it as I find that it is to small.

Would love a smaller fenced area, our poor little toy poodle is always being picked on. In the past she has been chased, pinned down, almost mawled and is petrified of some dogs that have previously backed her into a corner

We drive 20 minutes to Altona rather than use this space, it’s a real shame as this is walking distance from our house. Really needs some love

As it is, I wont use it. Dogs come out filthy and it smells. Why isnt a recycled water sprinkler system installed along with some hardy couch grass.

We’d love to see some improvements here with shelters and activities!

Great idea. We no longer take our dog to this park not because of the facilities but because of some of the dogs that go there. The dogs tend to gang up on others and have felt pretty unsafe for our pup a few times.

Do poo powered light systems even exist?

Will have to install a poo powered system at my own home if this is a thing!
