Rutherglen - Solar Panels for Showgrounds Pavilion

The stadium within Henderson Pavilion at the Showgrounds currently provides an indoor venue for a range of community and school sporting and health and well being activities. It is also the venue for the Rutherglen Agricultural Show and Rutherglen Wine Show which attracts nation wide entries.

These activities use flood lighting with the Pavilion sports stadium . The installation of a solar power system will assist us in minimising our carbon footprint.

Current users include clubs and groups for badminton, basketball, netball, lifeball, family sports night, strength training and fitness classes.

The stadium is also used as toilets and change rooms by cricket, little athletics, tennis and football clubs. During wet weather these clubs also use the stadium for training and activities.

Reducing financial overheads will assist in providing sustainable maintenance of the facility by the Agricultural Society to ensure its continued availability for the community now and into the future.
