Romsey Mechanics Institute - Toilet Upgrade

Access to the RMI toilets is through the main hall: Regular & Casual user groups are continually interrupting each other to get to the toilets. (RSL members having to walk through dance classes).

Our plans (Nth side only) will upgrade the existing toilets, add disabled and unisex toilets and provide better access from the main hall. This is a three stage project.

1. Allow for detailed planning and necessary approvals.
2. Unisex and disabled toilets to be built while allowing the RMI to continue to operate.
3. Replacement of the existing, old toilets including improved access from the main hall

Romsey is a rapidly growing rural community. The project will provide modern and more inclusive facilities and greatly increase the opportunities for the current community groups who use the Romsey Mechanics Institute's main hall, kitchen and other rooms.

We plan to keep as many community activities as possible within the town to build community conscience, increase business and employment opportunities, reduce traffic and carbon emissions.

Improved facilities will attract new user groups.

The RMI currently provides for community meetings, school/other concerts, presentation nights, information/training sessions, CWA & RSL meetings/other activities, birthday parties, weddings, funerals and C&A Dance Academy
