We are seeking funding to establish a community social enterprise in the form of a Multi-Faceted community space which incorporates
- An educational community shed space for our courses i.e. welding, chainsaw safety, urniture restoration, Sheila’s in the shed, car maintenance, propagation, biodynamic gardening etc.
- “Trading Post” shop front for local community to sell/trade their hand-made, hand produced products
- An eastern corridor foodbank service for the Macedon Ranges and beyond
- Incorporating a fresh food movement through a community garden, and propagation project for self- sustainability
- A community “fix-it” shop to encourage skill share and environmental sustainability

Romsey has a population of 6011, with over 1913 low-income households. We are seeing an increase in people needing alternative sources of income, education and community support to make ends meet. The Romsey Community Social Enterprise / Trading post Foodbank and Community Garden will:
-Reduce cost of locals traveling to nearest foodbank which is minimum 50km round trip
-Empower locals to learn new skills and connect with community
-Prevent social isolation and loneliness by creating opportunities for more community involvement
-Improve Community health and well-being
-Create a much-needed community venue used for a variety of activities

This plan meets so many needs - it helps people access fresh local food and skills, in a non-commercial public space that facilitates people mixing and learning from each other (thereby combating social isolation and financial disparity).
