Rockin' the Tallangatta 50s Festival

The Tallangatta 50s Festival celebrates the era the new Tallangatta township was created. In recent years, the festival has struggled. It needs revitalising and a new direction to keep it alive. Let’s make it happen and keep this important celebration of our history alive.
Let’s deliver a bigger, better, rockin’ 2019 Festival! An event that includes all sectors of the community, embraces opportunities, and is self-sustaining for future years. As part of the delivery, an event manual will be produced to assist non-profit community groups successfully run the event in future years.
Without a ‘shake-up’, Tallangatta will lose the Festival.

The Project will provide guidance to the community on how to host a successful and self-sustaining Festival.
The rockin' 2019 Festival will:
• Deliver substantial economic benefits to the local community
• Reaffirm Tallangatta’s identity as the ‘town that moved’
• Maintain a sense of pride and belonging in the community
• Provide an opportunity to promote the town to potential residents and visitors
• Deliver fundraising opportunities to community groups
