So what is hybrid-liquid alternating? Well, it is our proposed rocket system, where the engine performs the majority of the flight using hybrid fuel and performs a hover slam at the end using liquid propellants.

It is used because the major problem with space launch systems is their tendency to explode. A hybrid rocket is much safer because it can be controlled with only one valve and instead of blowing-up, tends to just burn (the preferred method). However, the main problem with hybrid systems is that towards the end of their burn time, the grain becomes increasingly unreliable.

There is little to no outreach for children (boys and girls) in the western suburbs about aerospace technology let alone STEM. Our plan would be to engage primary school students in our research program and prove that good can come of science and technology in the real world.
