Retro fitted wheelie bin-style worm farms will be installed in at least 14 food related businesses across the tourist town of Port Campbell. Businesses will be supported in the use of the worm farms with how-to-use signage, information booklet and an online question and answer forum. A voluntary coordinator will visit regularly to manage the health and functioning of the farms. Soil improving biproducts such as worm castings and worm tea will be packaged and offered locally for sale. Funds from the sale of products will be used to support future township revegetation projects and community events.

More than 125 000 regional and international tourists visit Port Campbell annually. During their visit they support a diverse range of food retailers, appreciate the natural landscape and benefit from local community infrastructure. Port Campbell's international connectivity means it is an ideal location to showcase innovation. Worm farm installation will benefit the community by; (1) assisting with the management of food waste across the town, (2) strengthening community belonging through working toward a common cause, (3) generating funds to support valuable town revegetation projects and events, and (4) providing a template for other communities interested in managing food waste.
