Emerald Community House (ECH) will restore the National Trust listed Old Emerald Bakehouse as a community accessible renewable resource. Building restoration of this historic local icon includes sustainable power upgrade, new roof, garden, water tanks, heritage listed, century-old woodfired oven restoration , door & window reparations and accessible fencing/gate. Centrally located in the Emerald village, it has been used by the community as a pop-up venue for art exhibitions, art festival hub, community activities & local music programs . It's a much loved site in the heart of the community but needs repairs to enable more widespread, ongoing use. http://www.emeraldcommunityhouse.org.au/resurrection-of-the-old-emerald-bakery/

Emerald Community House (ECH) secured the management of this site for community use with a long term lease. The site is to be used for community enterprise, education, meeting space, pop-up events, arts, music performance and historic displays. Situated in the central community market precinct, it adds a warm, "town square" feel. By installing renewable energy and using re-purposed materials where possible, this site becomes an exemplar of sustainable community led restoration of important historic places that have a future as community resource. The old Bakehouse will run with renewable resources, investing in Emerald's future as a community run facility.

The old bakery in Emerald is such a wonderful space...as a venue throughout the annual PAVE event it is filled with good vibes and sweet local music....be great to see more events at this hidden little gem.......with a bit of a spruce up it can be turned into a vibrant community asset for all to enjoy!

This venue brings our community together. It is integral to our very limited night activities venues, for sharing music and enabling people to be together

A valuable space that still has plenty to offer. Well deserving of some maintenance.

A wonderful space that, once resurrected, could be accessed and utilised by the whole community.
