Restore and activate historic Williamstown Morgue and Blacksmith.

The Williamstown Morgue is one of Melbourne's little known treasures. On a Friday night a Ghost Tour takes guests through, but access is limited to this one night. An interactive multimedia light and sound show will be installed, which will make the area accessible to all visitors during the day, to complement the evening tours. Works to clean up the area with new paving in the forecourt and gate entry will improve access, with a thorough clean of the building required. The adjacent Blacksmiths Shed also needs structural and exterior works to be completed.

Locals of and visitors to Williamstown seek a sense of place and understanding of their environment. Activating the Morgue and Blacksmith shed will provide an engaging link to the historical past of Melbourne's original seaport. It will add another reason for visiting the Williamstown waterfront.
