We will teach web development to people who have not accessed other educational pathways due to social disadvantage, a lack of engagement with traditional teaching methods, social exclusion, or other genuine life challenges.
By the end of our course participants will build a simple web based project. The project will allow them to experience how to take an idea and turn it into a reality.
Our participants will leave the course with new skills, a sense of achievement, a letter of recommendation from our mentors and a portfolio piece that will make them more desirable in the job market.
Our project is free but that is not the only reason it is different from other training pathways. Our core ethos is about building communities of empowered learners in Gippsland. We want these trail blazers and entrepreneurs to go on to help build a more technologically empowered Gippsland. Our mentors who work and own technology businesses in the local area will do all that they can to ensure our participants succeed. Our participants will be connected to a network of professionals that can assist them on their pathways to further training and employment.

I'm so excited to be a part of this project , working with local IT businesses and experts to teach local people the skills to get them into jobs. I am asked regularly by Gippsland businesses for people with IT skills and now we can prepare people for these jobs.

I can see this project filling a big gap.
