My project is about rediscovering a little gem of nature in a urban environment. it is an invitation to reconnect with a unique , rare and fragile wildflower grassland and appreciate its historical, cultural and natural value .
Families could walk around the grassland and make some discoveries in term of wildflowers but also with the animals silhouettes ,they could walk in time and imagine what Broadmeadows looked like before settlement.
For schools it could be a great and valuable educational tool to support learning through the curriculum but also during the school holidays .

This project could answer in many ways to the need of the community to reconnect with their environment without having to drive as the grassland is accessible by walk.
In addition the grassland is close to Daniella medical center and many studies showed the positive impact of nature on people mental and physical state.
Finally with a diverse community the grassland could be the link for people to relate to the place they are living in now and to create a new sense of active citizenship responsibility.

Grasslands are like secret treasures. Let’s make them less secret! Great to see this project listed.

Too many of these natural corridors are being lost...a must to preserve this area.
