The members of this great addition to the Victorian tourist sites needs to be recognized for the value it presents to our State and our visitors. Members give their time and energy weekly to make the Rose Garden a beautiful place to visit. Their meeting facilities are in need of an upgrade to keep these dedicated volunteers safe and comfortable. A new meeting facility would give the volunteers a great sense of their value to the Victorian community and also show them that the Government appreciates their efforts.

VSRGS Meeting and Facility room of 20m x 7m has been scoped to include a concrete floor, Colourbond walls and roofing, skylight roof panels for natural light, a front entrance roller door for security, plasterboard walls, electrical's for lighting and GPO's, standard wall and roof heights, and all documentation for a building permit. The project also includes removal of the current "shed" that is used as VSRGS Meeting and Facility room.
Volunteers, mainly retirees, from the community are crucial to the survival of Victoria State Rose Garden. VSRGS participate in rose garden maintenance and associated activities each Wednesday and Saturday, providing them with a range of gardening skills, social interaction, exercise and belonging to a group of like minded people. Volunteers have morning tea, lunches and meetings in the current VSRGS Meeting "shed", which is open to the weather with no solid walls, no front wall, numerous trip hazards, dusty and with leaves, and a roof that is too low. It is hot in summer and cold in winter.

Upgrade to the current 'shed' is essential. Communication at meetings is difficult due to the almost temporary wall structures and exposures to all weather. Security is also an issue as the area is open and exposed. Trainers, presenters and visitors to the VSRG volunteers are also exposed to the elements. From a safety perspective, the flooring, table and chairs are a risk
Replacement of the current open shed with a purpose-built meeting and facility room will be a godsend for Victoria State Rose Garden Supporters who maintain the wonderful Victoria State Rose Garden, Werribee Park.
Great idea. They certainly need better amenities especially in the heat and cold weather . Please vote for this they are a an amazing hard working group of volunteers at the Victoria State Rose garden. Good luck everyone!

It would be Important to have the " shed " improved from a safety point of view, as well as shelter from the weather, hot & cold. This will ensure that the Rose Garden will be maintained in the future by the wonderful volunteers who put in their hard working hours.
