Our project is to upgrade and enhance the park in Edina Street Reserve. This would include updating the existing playground that is over ten years old, building a sandpit including interactive play, building a bbq area and community gardens. Edina Street Reserve is located in the heart of Williamstown North, surrounded by a housing estate built in the 1940s. This area is experiencing growth with a number of developments increasing the number of the houses in the adjacent Park Crescent. The park would be a space that is accessible to our growing community.

In the past ten years, the number of families in Williamstown North has grown by 25%, but during this time there has been limited investment in parks. Edina Street Reserve is set on an under-utilised reserve, ideally located for the growing number of families. Enhancing our park would provide us with a place to meet, building stronger relationships and increasing community engagement. The community gardens would facilitate us to care and contribute to our local environment and provide a practical example for our children. Improvements to the playgrounds would encourage our children to be active and engage in the community.
