Regional Paddle Sports Centre Development - Roof/Wall Replacement

The Canoe Club is committed to evolving for the community through the provision of adequate facilities commensurate with the diversity of modern needs and providing opportunities for all interests, ages, genders and skill level.

The Club have identified and are supportive of an integrated, functional and welcoming environment and are seeking to future proof its facilities by replacing the roof and walls of its reconfigured, functional and accessible boat and equipment storage space.

The roof/wall replacement will provide the remaining facility improvements to service not only club needs but the wider community and other user group requirements as well.

The facility is an old industrial site shed that has served the club well, but falls short on the modern standards required of a public facility.

The project looks to move the club from a local facility catering for its members to a facility of regional importance that is capable of accommodating female/family participation in all forms of paddling including existing/emerging sports such as recreational paddling, dragon boating, sea/ocean paddling, outrigging, canoe polo, multisport, whitewater, marathon and sprint kayaking.

The improvements will ensure that the club can provide an environment suitable for the use of schools/scouts and community groups.
