My project will enable Kyneton Croquet Club to further attract older women and men to enjoy the game and derive both physical and social benefits from doing so. It will also allow the club to offer more opportunities to local secondary schools to increase their students' appreciation and enjoyment of another sport, and will provide an alternative place for others in the community to enjoy.

My project proposes an extensive upgrade to the club to make the lawns a first class playing surface; to properly and safely house service equipment and playing equipment; to provide modern unisex toilets, with disabled access; and to bring the clubhouse into a modern facility without affecting its heritage values. This will increase opportunities for wider access for both young and older people to join together and enjoy the game at this historic club.

Croquet is a great game for those who enjoy social activity and a sport that participants can play when age precludes more active sports. It also enables people with disabilities to enjoy both a game and a social activity that that would not otherwise be available to them Kyneton Croquet club is an asset to the town and community.

This is a great club but desperately needs funds for upgrades and improvements to lawns, clubhouse, fencing and amenities so that the club can attract and accommodate new members to this enjoyable game.

This is the oldest gazetted club. Club rooms were originally built in 1923 from the hard work of money raising by the members at the time. The rooms desperately need maintenance and up grading. Croquet is a sport that can be played by anyone of any age.

As a youngster I played croquet and loved it. Now, middle aged, I often pass the Kyneton Croquet Club and think 'I must go in there one day.' It's a beautiful little spot with heritage charm. Count me in! Good luck!

This is such a pretty club in the centre of town - it would be a shame to see it go to waste or be taken over by developers.
