At The Learning Lab refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants in our community will: explore and build on their digital and online skills;
sign up to a dynamic program of workshops and tutorials developed and delivered by local volunteers (photography, digital marketing, CV support, basic computer skills, website/blog fundamentals etc.); enjoy the benefits of collaboration and co-working; experiment with digital cameras and other creative technology; be inspired to share ideas in the creative ecosystem; connect with the local community and socialise; develop their own business ventures and thrive!

Unemployment and social isolation are serious challenges for refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants in our community. The Learning Lab facilitates community interconnectivity, as well as supporting economic participation and active livelihoods. Located on High St Northcote, the Learning Lab is a creative, inspiring and welcoming space that allows for new community members to work alongside one another, increases agency and social networks, breaks down social and cultural barriers, improves access to technology and encourages collaboration and new ideas. The Learning Lab leverages the power of our local talent through a curated program of engaging tutorials and workshops.

Such a worthwhile project! I live nearby & visited Free To Feed out of curiosity when it wasn't set up yet. I wish you nothing but success & put you on my shortlist. I hope to visit again soon & find some way to support.

I love this project, you're on my shortlist. Good luck with promoting it and getting funding. Loconomics Australia is also in your area and uses technology to fight for fair and ethical conditions for gig workers. A collaboration between our projects would be great.
